GREAT lunch spot to grab a break while having a fun day on the mountain. Having been here on numerous occasions, at different times of the day, and at different points in the year i have never walked away disappointed from this place. I have tried nearly everything on the menu, with the exception of any shell fish dish which my wife fully approves of, and have been quite impressed with each one. A couple of my favorites are the steak sandwich with Horseradish sauce, the chicken tortilla soup, and the cornbread for an appetizer (which used to be jalapeño cornbread but I am assuming it just didn't appeal to everyone). The seating inside is a bit tight quartered but the staff does a great job of working hard to get the tables cleaned and ready so that they quickly turn over. There is also heated seating outside of you don't mind that. Give it a try. Sure you'll enjoy.

Hello Steamboat Springs, and what a welcoming breakfast we had at the Paramount. We went back again and again for breakfast and lunch throughout the long weekend. Recommendations: The breakfast sandwich with sausage is exceptional. This ain't your grocery store sausage! The egg BLT: roasted tomatoes and homemade bacon. The fruit and granola: they make their own granola nestled in milk and top it with fresh fruit. Wasn't crazy about the coffee but the food and service were dazzling!

Oh my goodness, what a great place for brunch. Beautiful view from the outdoor patio and tons of appealing things on the menu which make it hard to decide between. Everyone knows that the key to a good sandwich is the bread, it was delicious bread (see pictures others posted). Highly recommend the pesto sandwich, it isn't overly pesto-y but is just right. I will say that the service was a little iffy. You order inside and the woman at the register was very friendly. She was taking orders and making drinks very quickly. I asked for water which apparently gets delivered to the table but it took 20 mins before we caught someone to bring it. Frankly, once eating the sandwich I didn't mind so much.

Excellent breakfast...large portions are great value. I had the $hit on a shingle... Very tasty and probably big enough to feed two. Wife had the chipotle salmon... Also very good. The plAce was really busy so I had to stand in line for about 20 mins... But was worth it for a great breakfast and a couple of mimosas. I'd go again.

I had just returned from my hike up to the top of Thunderhead and then to the summit. I was tired and starting to get hangry (yes, I said hangry not hungry). I just wanted some good food to take back to my condo so I could relax....to my delight, I LOVED the French toast! It was absolutely amazing!! I was also a huge fan of the homemade bacon. I am a bacon fanatic and it was the best bacon I've had yet. Juicy, not overlooked, but still had a great crisp. The flavor was so savory. It went really well with the French toast. The French toast is thick, not over battered, great flavor, and comes with cooked apple slices that stay crunchy. I would definitely eat here every day. It is on my list of go-to places to eat here in Steamboat Springs.

Hmmm.. I came here based on the food reviews being good. I must have ordered the wrong thing, because the food was not the greatest. My boyfriend and I had breakfast here on Sunday before we headed back to the city. I must say that the service wasn't half bad, they were attentive, and made an effort with refilling our glasses. The food on the other hand was sub par. I had the biscuits and gravy, the biscuits were rock hard and the sausage gravy was cold. Ice cold. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak, which was some sort of mystery meat... We dropped some on the ground and our dogs didn't eat it.... :( It was pricey to boot, which I get, it's the mountain, it's a resort town... things are going to be pricey, I just wished the food was edible. Maybe it was a bad day, I don't know, I just know that I most likely wont return anytime soon.

Easily the food outweighs the staff and service. Breakfast was lovely, well presented, and extremely tasty. We had our pup with us sitting at an outside table. One server shattered a water glass at the table next to ours. No big deal, accidents happen. What bothered me is that she left gigantic shards of glass (not to mention the little ones that are likely more problematic) all over the ground under the table and by the surrounding tables (ours included). No broom, no dustpan, no attempt outside of the one broken piece on her tray. I quickly unleashed and picked my dog up off the ground. She seemed annoyed that I was trying to relocate to a place out of the accident zone. "what's the problem? I got all of the glass." Now i have 3 problems... 1) Lose the attitude. 2) No Cupcake, you did not get all of the glass? How are you not seeing the 3 huge pieces of broken glass scattered among the field of shattered ones?? The titanic was sunk by a much smaller item. 3) I'd prefer to forgo a trip to the vet because my dog stepped on your lack of interest in maintaining a safe environment. Trust me, the trip to the ER will be a much bigger deal for you when someone's toddler walks along your glassy land mines.

People that rate this food below 4 stars are people that have terrible taste buds and probably eat McDonalds regularly. The sandwiches are delicious and big enough to split with someone else. We ate here everyday for lunch during our ski trip week. The prices are better than others on the mountain and the food you get is worth more than the deep fried basket of food you will get in one of the lodges. The lattes were delicious. The soups were tasty and had their own uniqueness so you knew it wasn't out of bag. BEST LUNCH ON THE MOUNTAIN AND IN TOWN!!!

This place is great! We stopped in and saw a couple eating some incredible looking sandwiches and so we decided to stay for lunch. Great decision! My husband had the prime rib sandwich was incredible and I had the grilled veggie sandwich which was also good. Both sandwiches were huge and just amazing. We will definitely be back.

Had the Reuben with fries - solid. Their beer selection could be better (2 beers on draft, microbrews by bottle), but the outdoor seating is nice, sandwiches are great, and service is good.

Paramount isn't large inside, but the food was excellent, and we found the service to be perfectly fine. We were looking for a quick-ish lunch (30-45 minutes) on a Friday that was DUMPING outside, and while they were busy, nobody seemed to be waiting for a table. The draft beer selections were limited, but good (Newcastle and Stella), and they had a couple other options in bottles or cans. We all went with sandwiches (one of the group was looking for soup, but they had just run out of the type she wanted), and everyone ended up polishing theirs off. The sandwiches were all good sized, and the breads were all great. My Cuban Reuben (pulled corned beef, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, garlic mayo and dijon mustard) was fantastic. The pulled corned beef was tender but not mushy, and the combination with the ham and pickles was excellent. My buddy's cheesesteak was tasty, but because it was served on (delicious and thick) sliced bread rather than a hoagie roll, it was a bit messy to eat. Overall a nice place to grab a sandwich in the base area; I'll definitely eat here again.

If you're looking for a breakfast place with a good selection and reasonable prices (be warned that the exception I ran into today is the juice, $4 for a small glass), go here. Order at the counter and they'll bring your food out-- very quickly, to my observation. I had the egg BLT with the 'homemade' bacon. The modifier is appropriate-- I couldn't taste any smoke or cure, nothing notable except a slight sweetness, and there was almost no salt either (and I'm someone who thinks that everything is too salty). The quality of the meat itself was very good though, and more meat than fat. The sandwich comes between two thick slices of sourdough (I took the top piece home and ate the BLT open-faced) with spring mix and a touch of balsamic vinaigrette, the bacon, two fried eggs, and some roasted tomatoes on top. I could've used a little salt and pepper on the whole thing, and the tomatoes could have been roasted longer, especially this time of year. Maybe cheese would've helped. Hot sauce definitely did. tl;dr: Cute place. Not too expensive. Under-seasoned but decent-quality sandwich with lot of potential. Would try again.

Second time here. Thought food was average to say the least. Hate the order in line, find a table and wait. We waited over an hour for 2 sandwiches and an order of fries. The pork and Brie arrived with just pork. I was starving having waited so long for food continued to eat waiting for someone to come by to tell. The sever was kind of rude, told me she could bring me a slice of cheese (by that time my sandwich was 3/4 eaten) or refund me for the cheese! On a $12 sandwich she brought me $2!! Should have refunded my entire sandwich or given me a credit to come back. Poor service, no water refills....they appeared to be overwhelmed. Won't go back.

Hey the staff here today did an outstanding job of processing orders for a horde of hungry conference attendees. Seven or eight people I came with all thought their food was great. It didn't hurt a bit that the weather was perfect and we got to enjoy the picnic tables outside. The tomato soup was homemade and very good. My sandwich the turkey was huge.
(3)Jack B.
This place is a little more expensive then others but a great on mountain choice for lunch. Tasty sandwiches, French onion soup!!!! Basket of fries!!!
(5)D S.
Best food on the mountain imo. Lunch is terrific and breakfast may be better. You can order breakfast all day or slam one of their awesome sandwiches for lunch. The cheesesteak is delicious but the reuben is top notch, add a basket of fries and you may need a nap before you can head back up the slopes. Seems pricey but you get way more bang for the buck than locales higher up the mountain.
(5)Larry T.
Maybe just a bad day but we won't return to this restaurant. The fresh made potato chips were cold and not edible. Ruben was average, crab BLT, a little below. All in all a disappointment. Waitress never checked back, one glass of water and never saw her again.

Nice-looking place with good location. Didn't try the sandwiches, but for a good breakfast, well served, you'd be better off walking a few steps over to (or near) the Sheraton. The capacino here was so-so; but even if it had been first class, the too-loud jazz-rap music was overwhelming, both inside the restaurant and at the outside tables. Business was brisk, but the staff still was focused more on their non-business conversations with each other and what was left over for us was begrudging. The atmosphere is "What do you want", not "How can I help you?"
(2)C H.
Really great menu with reasonable prices and awesome service! Be sure to try the chicken-fried steak and eggs for breakfast smothered in elk gravy. OMG delicious!
(4)Charlotte D.
Delicious, fresh food. I had the veggie panini and it was perfectly prepared. Friendly service in a beautiful setting. A must try if you are in Steamboat Springs!
(5)Casey S.
I've been coming to this place since I was 13 years old. Had it again for breakfast today for the first time in ten years and it's just as good as I remember.

I will just say Sh@t on a Shingle :) and make sure you have some room in your stomach; )

I went here while visiting Steamboat, based on a recommendation from our hotel. It is such a cute place, with a nice view. The food was outstanding! I got the Reuben sand-which. It was huge and tasted so fresh and gourmet. Best Reuben I've ever had! The lemonade there is also wonderful and so fresh! My mother got the salmon breakfast and that was also amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful also. If you're in the area definitely stop by and try this place!
(5)Kathleen G.
Great breakfast! My daughter had the sh.t on a shingle and I had the chicken waffles. It was great food at a great price. Good coffee, nice atmosphere!
(5)Matt M.
I've eaten here twice and had great food both times. Both experieneces have been for brunch. I would recommend the chicken fried steak or the SOS. My wife had the B&G and enjoyed it, but was a bit suprised at the crumbly texture of the biscuits. They were like a corn biscuit in that regard. Still very tasty.
(5)Erin K.
Love the Turkey sandwich! It's amazing. The bread is so good. The staff is one of the best in town. Becky kills it.
(5)Carrie R.
Food is decent, can be hit or miss. Service is guaranteed to be a miss. Takes forever to get your food. At least it's a nice view if you get to sit outside.

Bad food, rude, awful service - go anywhere but The Paramount. We stopped by at 11:45 on sunday morning when the Pro Bike Tour was in town and were told to come back at noon as they were closed for a private buffet brunch. We came back at noon and were then told we had to wait until 12:15 so they could set up. We asked if we could have a cup of coffee while we waited and and fortunately another employee overruled the rude cashier who didn't want to give us some coffee - we were served some coffee while we waited. While waiting we listened to the staff discuss which of the buffet brunch items that had been sitting out were still ok to sell - didn't look like a good idea to sell sliced breads that had been sitting out for hours on a brunch buffet, but they did plopped them on a platter for display to sell. We noticed people lining up at 12:10 to order from the counter, so we got in the line and ordered from the same rude cashier. She answered the phone while we waited to give her our order, then she handed me the credit charge slip telling me to "fill in the tip and then sign it" - WHAT?? tell a customer to fill in a tip at an order at the counter restaurant?...yes, she did that. The food took a while to come out, and when it did, the fried eggs on the breakfast item were so overcooked, brown and hard, they were inedible. Wow - can't imagine what anyone likes about this awful restaurant. So many good places to eat in Steamboat, take a pass on this one.

Awesome breakfast! The most massive breakfast burrito ever, great egg sandwich and french toast!
(5)Lisa R.
The egg BLT was delicious and the pineapple, ginger iced tea was great too! Excellent start to the day!

The food here is great! No, it's not cheap, but nothing is on the mountain. This place is located right at the foot of the mountain where the two person band plays starting around 3:00 (at least during spring skiing), I was laid up with an ACL injury and my friend is a non-skiier, so we sat here for a couple of hours waiting for our husbands to finish skiing. We had excellent service, 2 friendly young men, who were very sympathetic to my injury and shared their own war stories. You place your order inside and then they bring the food/drinks out to you. Our water glasses were brought out with an extra carafe of water when we arrived at 2:00. My friend had a turkey sandwich, I had the chipotle pepper, ham and sweet potato soup and we shared a basket of fries. We ate less than half of the food, it was so much. The soup was the best soup I have ever had. It was so thick and the flavor was amazing. The fries come in a huge basket and seem to be freshly cut. Her sandwich was huge and looked really good. We had drinks after happy hour started at 3:00. The margaritas were on special and they were really good. The husbands and 2 kids showed up and had some drinks and another basket of fries and our service was very prompt. I highly recommend this place.

Delicious. We've had breakfast once and lunch twice this week. You order at the counter and they deliver food to your table. So don't expect full table service. Fresh and tasty, and definitely different from the other mountain options. Their breads are incredible. Make sure you get some of the homemade chips to share.

Was in last week with my two toddlers (which should be the equivalent of a huge tattoo across my forehead that reads "PLEASE HURRY UP AND GET ME OUT OF HERE". We ordered two salads and an order of fries. After about 15 minutes of waiting, our basket of fries came out. We sat another 20 minutes - kids getting increasingly impatient and rowdy - STILL NO SALADS!!!!!! I finally went in and asked for the salads to go. They informed me that they had forgotten our order altogether and would make the salads quickly and put them in to go boxes. I was furious. It wasn't even crowded!!! You guys need a better system!!!!!!! 10 MORE minutes passed before the salads were ready. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! I might have expected a refund of the exorbitant price of our salads or the tip that I wrote in on the credit card slip before we even had a chance to evaluate our service! Nope. Nothing. Your food is good but your service really is atrocious.
(2)Mindy P.
They were not in the LEAST bit interested in accommodating my son who has severe allergy to dairy, egg, and peanut. The lady at the counter looked bored (or was it annoyed) that I even made a request to have bacon cooked separately from egg on the grill. She "couldn't guarantee" his safety. We eat out in restaurants all the time, and most places are more than happy to work with us. We promptly left and had a delightful breakfast at Winona's downtown.

Wow! The food here is delicious and unique. Must try the lobster roll. Fresh lobster flown in from Maine twice a month. This is a treat with large chunks of lobster on a toaster roll with fresh made patatoe chips. Pricey sandwich but worth every dollar. I have tried five other sandwiches and all of them get your mouth buds watering just thinking about. Friendly owners. Limited seating inside. Try this Place out you will not be disappointed.
(5)Sammi P.
Wow, all I can say is excellent! Just simply great food. Just can't go wrong with the veggie sandwich, and my boys love the hot chocolate.
(5)Carter A.
Great fresh home-made ingredients. You have to try something with their bacon! Excellent location as well
(5)Pepper B.
Good coffee. Food is good value. Definitely waaaay better than mountain food which costs about the same. That said, I came in to get an order to go and was enticed by the special-- Salmon Hash for $11. I asked what it was and the cashier said that it was salmon, not lox, cooked over hash browns with a bed of greens beneath and a fried egg on top. Ooo sounds good, right? It's not exactly what I got though. What I got is OK, but I probably wouldn't have ordered it and certainly not for $11. It was: a fried egg on top of smoked salmon on top of left over french fries (ie, french fry ends... by the way, the french fries on their own look great when I saw them being served to a table near me) on top of a little lettuce with a few pieces of sauteed (?) celery on top of a slice of bread. Hmm. I'd go again with lower expectations. It has a great atmosphere for slopeside dining, including a fire place. I wouldn't get take out food again though.

The good: food was delicious. I went solo for a late breakfast and the stuffed French toast had it going on. Went back later in the day with my husband and had a drink. Dark and stormy, one of my all time favorite drinks! Also great. We were staying at the Sheraton so you couldn't beat the location. The bad: the service was not great, to put it kindly. I had checked out the website before going and recognized the owner who helped me at breakfast. He did recommend the French toast, which started me off on the right foot. However, he never checked to see how I was doing, even though they were not busy. This didn't actually bother me until hindsight set in though, because I was totally fine inhaling the French toast. What bugged is that after I was done I went ahead and bussed my own table and returned my plate and coffee mug to the counter. No "thanks" no "hey, have a good day". Nothing. Again, they were not busy. Convenience overruled my slight irritation from the earlier visit when it was time for a libation. Plus, I thought I had noticed the dark and stormy on their website. When we walked by the place was empty except for a woman sitting at an outside table. However, sandwich boards outside indicated that they were indeed open. We ventured in and the woman who was sitting outside followed us in (turned out to be the other owner) and asked if we needed anything. There was no menu that indicated alcohol and no alcohol was displayed, so I started to fear my memory was wrong about the desired refreshment. I asked if they served cocktails and her response was "yes". We waited momentarily for her to follow up with a "here's a menu" or "we have x,y,z on tap" or whatever but instead she said in a kinda exasperated tone "what do you want ". "um... A dark and stormy?" I ventured. Thankfully the drinks were produced (at $8 each.) We sat on the patio and about 10 minutes into our drinks the outside speakers were turned off. This was at 4:45. I don't know if they closed at 5 or what, but again no one came out to see how we were doing.

A welcome addition to SkiTime Square. It looks like a very upscale coffee bar and the food doesn't disappoint. Prices are a little high but you get awesome quality food and avoid the riffraff. Open at 7:30am daily and they do breakfast, lunch and Après ski.
(4)Diana W.
We ate at the paramount every morning of our ski trip to Steamboat. The food, staff and location is perfect! Our favourites were the Egg BLT and French Toast. Yum.
